Get rust free surfaces with Alkaline Descalers

Alkaline Descalers are non-volatile alkaline liquids that are used in descaling and cleaning heat transfer surfaces of rust and water scale. A concentrated liquid compound is developed for speedy and systematic cleaning of strong metal surfaces that are used in heat transfer processes. The descaler does not attack metals and is safe to be used on all metals except zinc, magnesium and aluminium.

 

Alkaline Descaler is a concentrated cleaning liquid that is biodegradable in nature and is apt for removing water scale, rust, greases, dry accumulated soils and hydraulic oils. A strongly oxidizing surface conditioner is used primarily for descaling before chemical polishing/electro polishing. The descaler can be used to clean almost any type of equipment and surface that is subject to rust and scale. A highly efficient and economical descaler reduces downtime, lowers labour requirement and thoroughly cleans the equipment. It is an apt solution to clean fire-tubes, water tube boilers, super heaters, condensers, evaporators, steamers, condensers, water lines, internal combustion engine water jackets, distillery equipment, piping and cooling systems etc.

 

Alkaline Descaler can be used for cleaning in two methods-one being the circulation method and the other being the soaking method. In the circulation method, the solution is filled in the heat exchange equipment to be cleaned. A solution of 1-5litre of alkaline descaler per 100litres of water is made and circulated through the system for approx.8-12hours. After the elapsed time, the system is flushed with fresh water to help remove soluble salts and particulate matter. The cleaning procedure can be speeded up by increasing the concentration of the solution and maintaining the solution temperature at 60-70 degree centigrade. If the above said condition is maintained, the circulation time can be reduced to 4-6 hours, which would save time and speed up the cleaning process.

Another method for cleaning with alkaline descaler is the soaking method.

 

In this method, the solution is made and filled up in the equipment to be cleaned. The equipment is allowed to soak up the solution for at least 24hours. After the lapsed time, the equipment is thoroughly cleaned by fresh water after draining out the alkaline solution. The process can be speeded up by maintaining the solution temperature at 60-70 degree centigrade and increasing the concentration of the solution. In this case, the soaking time can be reduced to 12hours.

 

The above two processes completely de-rust, descale, dissolve and remove machinery lubricants from the surfaces. The alkaline descaler is a non-volatile yet concentrated decaling solution. It should be handled with care by the use of rubber gloves, safety glasses and other proper cleaning gear.
