China Clay is a Hydrated Aluminum Silicate and Chemically China Clay is known as Aluminum Silicate Al2O3.2SiO2.2H2O. The China Clay is generally soft, earthy, usually white mineral in nature and is produced by the chemical weathering of aluminum silicate minerals like feldspar. In different regions of the world, the China Clay is colored pinkorange-red by iron oxide, giving it a distinct rust hue. Lighter concentrations yield white, yellow or light orange colors. The china clay brings improvement in chemical resistance, electrical properties and reduction in water absorption. China clay does not swell in the water and can withstand high temperature. China clay increases the strength of the material in which it is mixed. It lowers the crack tendency in the finished products, improves shock resistance and surface quality.
