Short Description::
Long Description::
Palladium(II) nitrate is used as a catalyst for alkene nitration to glycol dinitrates, also used as a precursor to supported Pd catalysts. Palladium is a key component of fuel cells, which react hydrogen with oxygen to produce electricity, heat, and water.
Application::
Palladium(II) nitrate is a reagent that can be used to link two smaller molecules together with a covalent bond. It can also be used in place of other palladium salts as a precursor to palladium catalysts formed in situ, such as Pd" or Pd" phosphine complexes.
Dose::
Production levels and processes for palladium metal administered a single intraperitoneal dose of 14 µmol palladium(II) nitrate (Pd(NO3)2)/kg body.
Note::
Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazard: Oxidizer, may emit toxic fumes of NOx. Effects of Exposure: Small doses of nitrates may cause weakness, general depression, headache and mental impairment.
