70% percent of alcohol is ideal to a stronger solution. Pure alcohol coagulates protein in contact. If 70 percent of alcohol is poured to a single celled organism, the diluted alcohol also coagulates the protein, but at a slower rate, so that it penetrates all the way through the cell before coagulation can block it.
Even though Ethanol is commonly used it is a dangerous chemical. Ethanol is consumed when drinking alcoholic beverages, BUT CONSUMING ETHANOL ALONE CAN CAUSE COMA AND DEATH. 1) JONES REAGENT: Jones Reagent is a mixture of CHROMIUM TRIOXIDE and SULPHURIC ACID. (AVAILABLE IN HUGE STOCK WITH RXMARINE). THE OBSERVATION YOU SEE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A greenish blue sheet kind structure is formed. A quick note that the product is a sheet kind of structure and not a precipitate. This was the POSITIVE SIGN. The NEGATIVE aspect would be seen when the alcohol doesn't contain a primary alcohol.
2)TRIIODOMETHANE TEST: Take a solution of IODINE AND SODIUM HYDROXIDE and put it in the alcohol solution. The OBSERVATIONS YOU SEE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
If the solution is of ethanol, a very pale coloured ppt will form but if the alcohol was other like propan-1-ol or propan-2-ol, no precipitate is formed but a urine coloured pale yellow SOLUTION is formed.

How can I clean Engine Room?
