Application:
Application. Sodium metavanadate has been used as vanadium source in the microbial culture media to study vanadium reduction by mesophilic and thermophilic methanogens. It can be used as a precursor in the preparation of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) coated carbon nanotubes.
Using Procedure:
Sodium Metavanadate (SMV) is a vanadium salt that can be used as a corrosion inhibitor with good inhibition efficiency (98%) at 200 ppm. It can be used in the protection of carbon steel.
Note:
Ammonium metavanadate is the inorganic compound with the formula NH₄VO₃. It is a white salt, although samples are often yellow owing to impurities of V₂O₅. It is an important intermediate in the purification of vanadium.
