Holdwash is more effective then Lime wash :
1. Lime wash always be applied to a dampened surface (use a small hand-pumped spray) rather than directly to a dry substrate. It should not be applied in very cold, hot or wet conditions. It is also essential to wear protective gloves and goggles. While Slip barrier coat - hold block can be apply on dry as well as wet surface and for its application no any special precaution required.
2. Lime wash does not stop the acid attack on steel plates. Hard sulphur easily penetrates the soft lime wash and is not suitable for sulphur. While Slip barrier coat resulting polymeric barrier film which can't be punctured by any hard edge of sulphur.
Cost comparision : Slip barrier coat can be diluted with water before application. Only 4 - 5 drums of 210 Ltr Slip barrier coat is more then sufficient to cover 6 HOLD. Recirculation Method for ship tank cleaning -
1) First of all heat the remaining oil in tanks .
2) By stripping constantly. flush the tank with sea water,
3) Close all suction and discharge valves .
4) Then make solution Voyage Tank Clean, RXSOL Emulsifier Solvent Degreaser with water with percentage ratio of 2-6% Voyage Tank Clean, RXSOL Emulsifier Solvent Degreaser ( 2 Ltr to 6 Ltrs in 100 Ltr Water ) concentration value can be increase as per cleaning demand and contamination and condition of tank. Circulate cleaning solution via the automatic tank washing system pump and heater to the tank to be cleaned, wherefrom the solution is returned to the chemical solution tank via the stripping line. The same solution can be repeated for 2 - 3 tanks, then new cleaning solution required if same solution repeated for more then 2-3 tanks. Finally after recirculation the tanks should be rinsed thoroughly with sea water or fresh water depending on availability and requirements.
